Caffeine (Caffeine)

Caffeine increases metabolic activity in the cells. It inhibits phosphodiesterase, which increases the intracellular concentration of cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphase). This activates various cell enzymes and transcription factors associated with fat oxidation and lipolysis. The resulting lipolytic metabolism leads to a release of energy in the cells, which also stimulates hair follicle growth. Caffeine also prolongs the anagen phase of hair growth by increasing the production of the growth factor IGF-1.
